RESEARCH, MONITORING & EVALUATION
Nic has led research and monitoring and evaluation projects across the UK and internationally. Nic specialises in a broad range of research techniques, from developing quantitative on-street, on-bus, on-line, and telephone surveys, to leading focus groups, in-depth face to face and telephone interviews. Nic has led projects understanding public transport user needs, and has used ethnographic (observational) and discussion groups in which to define the stresses faced by transport users and providers in order to identify solutions to enable mobility for all.

Project Experience
Nic was project manager for the impact and process evaluation of the Better Bus Areas fund on behalf of the DfT. Examples of the final outputs can be found on the DfT website https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/better-bus-areas-evaluation-plan

Other recent research projects Nic has managed include an evaluation of the Robin Hood Pay As You Go travel card and an evaluation of Connect demand responsive transport services in North Lincolnshire.
Nic developed evaluation plans for monitoring the impact of transit corridors in the Philippines and elsewhere, as well as overseeing the collection of pre-implementation baseline data.
